Kanyaka Talkies est un film malayalais réalisé par KR Manoj, qui a connu un fort succès international pour son court-métrage "A Pestering Journey". Kanyaka Talkies raconte l’histoire d’un vieux théâtre dans un village, qui a dû arrêter de fonctionner car il n'était pas en mesure de faire face aux changements sociaux. Le réalisateur met l’accent sur la vie de cet homme, propriétaire du théâtre qui se donne corps et âme pour la survie de ce bâtiment. Le film a aussi été choisi pour l’ouverture du 44e Festival du Film Indien de Goa et a été classé par le magazine Forbes parmi les 5 films indiens à voir en 2014. Le film sera projeté en présence du réalisateur les samedi 29 et dimanche 30 mars à l’auditorium de l’Alliance française.

Kanyaka Talkies is a Malayalam film directed by KR Manoj, who had a strong international success for his short film A Pestering Journey. Kanyaka Talkies tells the story of an old theater in a village, which had to stop because it was not able to cope with social change. The director focuses on the life of this man, theater owner who gives himself body and soul to the survival of this building. The film also was chosen for the opening of the 44th Indian film festival in Goa and was ranked by Forbes magazine among the five Indian films to see in 2014. The film will be screened in the presence of the director on 29 & 30 (Saturday and Sunday) in the auditorium of the Alliance française.
