My Favorite Camus - Bonjour India 2013
The Book Office of the Embassy of France in India wishes to organise an Indo – French seminar commemorating the 100th Birth Anniversary of Albert Camus. The symposium, entitled ‘My Favorite Camus’, will bring together Indian and French intellectuals who will talk of their Camus – the one who influenced and inspired them – writer, playwright, thinker, journalist and engaged citizen.
Albert Camus was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1957. His works range from plays (Caligula 1938, Le Malentendu 1944), novels (L’Etranger, 1942 – La Chute, 1956 – La Peste, 1947), short stories (La Femme adultère, Le Renégat, Les Muets, L'Hôte, Jonas, La Pierre qui pousse), to poems and essays (Le Mythe de Sisyphe, 1942 – L’Homme révolté, 1951).
