Nagzira is this hidden, relatively unexplored and a fascinating forest nestled deep in Maharashtra`s Vidarbha region. Fondly called `The green oasis`, Nagzira houses an astounding variety of birds and animals in its small area. Famous for its huge Wild Dog population, sightings of this ferocious hunter are almost certain. It is thrilling to see them go about their business, efficient and terrifying. The Sloth Bear is another animal found in abundance.

As for the cats, the tigers and leopards are found all over the Nagzira habitat, and a glimpse of these fabled cats is sure to leave you ecstatic. Our guides and drivers would give their very best to track these big cats!

December is when the forest is at its most beautiful, with dense green jungles and gigantic bamboo thickets adorned with glistening dew drops giving the entire forest an other-worldly charm. The magnificent melange of lakes, sparkling life-providing streams, bamboo and teak forests and of course the myriad of birds and animals makes Nagzira a photographer`s paradise. There would be a lot of migratory birds nesting in the lakes in and around Nagzira, and we would try and spot a few beauties from up north. The resident birds including the eagles, orioles, minivets and drongos would make our time in the jungle all the more interesting!

There are only 2 Tiger parks in India which have Forest rest houses for tourists in the very core. Corbett is one, Nagzira is the other. Staying inside the Nagzira jungle, with wild animals and birds all around, and the magnificent Nagzira lake in your backyard is an experience to die for! The calm and peace of the Forest Rest house, its history and charm and the fact that it is a part of a leopard`s territory makes the stay all the more exciting!

Our first night would be at Pitezari, at the entrance of the Nagzira forest, which is famous for its birding and sloth bear population! We will try our best!

Come, let`s us all have a truly wild experience out there!

Day 1

On our arrival in Nagpur, we have a sumptuous breakfast at a south Indian restaurant before heading towards Nagzira. We check-in to the Nagzira Lake Rest house (core are) and following a nice lunch, start with our introductions and orientation. In the evening we go on our first safari into the forest. (Ideal time to reach Nagpur is 8.30 am).

Day 2

Two safaris for the day! The magnificent jungle would soon unfold its many stories in front of you! Be ready, be inspired! After the safari we stay in the forest. Now, you are in the most pristine wild in the midst of absolute beauty! We head back to the rest house for lunch, after which we go for an evening safari and try our luck in searching for all the species that evaded us on the morning safari. At night, as alarm calls and jungle sounds start getting more prominent, we go for a short night walk. This is thrilling, believe us! Also, the night sky in Nagzira is gorgeous; we will spend some time shooting star trails and the Milky Way!

Day 3

In the form of the morning safari today, we go on our last safari on the camp. This would be our final chance to live the Nagzira life, make stunning images of the morning rays permeating through the verdant greens and try and get a glimpse of those creatures dearest to us! And like all good things, we will bid goodbye to Nagzira post lunch and make our way towards Nagpur. We board the evening flight/bus back to home.
